Drink
There are many different beers to try at our bar including well known brands such as Guinness, Sharps Doombar from Cornwall, Thatchers Gold and Dry Cider and Carling and Veltins on draught. We specialise in offering ales from our two local breweries, Cotleigh and Exmoor Ales and also guest ales sourced from all over the UK which are changed regularly.

One of the oldest and most successful small breweries in the West Country brewing traditional beers for around 200 pubs in Somerset and Devon. Cotleigh Brewery, based in Wiveliscombe, produce twenty ales at this time including everything from porters to pale ale and also have their own range of fruit flavoured ciders called Fredriks.

Doom Bar Bitter is named after an infamous sandbank at the mouth of the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall. The Doom bar is at its most dangerous between low and high tides when it is submerged by just a few feet. Unsuspecting mariners can easily become stranded or in extreme weather, shipwrecked.
Doom Bar Bitter embodies many characteristics which makes it worthy to carry the name of this natural wonder. It's distinctive aroma and very fine balance sets it truly apart from other beers taking unsuspecting first time drinkers by surprise with its moreish appeal.

We have the very popular Otter Amber from the Otter Brewery in Devon on draught here at The Bear Inn. Brewed with special Cara malt and carefully selected hops, Amber delivers a finely balanced bitter flavour with hints of tropical fruit and spice - sometimes even an impression of ginger.
